Meet Chris Gibson Therapist, Performance Coach and Mediator
I’m Chris Gibson. I work with people who are under pressure, stuck in old patterns or dealing with situations they can no longer keep pushing through.
My approach is practical, direct and grounded in real life. I listen properly, but I will also challenge when it is needed. The aim is not to talk in circles. It is to help you understand what is really going on, make sense of the patterns behind it and start making clearer decisions.
I work with individuals, couples, business owners and teams, supporting people through therapy, performance coaching, addiction recovery, relationship work and mediation.
A different route into therapy and coaching
My path into this work has not followed one straight line.
I started in fitness and personal training, working with people on health, confidence, discipline, strength and performance. From there, my work moved into security, close protection, personal safety and conflict management.
Alongside that, I developed my training in psychotherapy, counselling, performance coaching, NLP, timeline therapy, hypnotherapy and advanced corporate stress management.
That background matters because people are not one-dimensional.
Stress affects how you think, behave, communicate and make decisions. Addiction is rarely just about willpower. Relationship problems are not always fixed by better communication alone. Workplace conflict is rarely only about the issue on the surface.
I look at the full picture, then help you deal with what is actually going on.
Areas I specialise in
I work across therapy, coaching and mediation, with particular experience in:
-
Couples therapy and marriage counselling
-
Codependency
-
Narcissistic abuse recovery
-
Anxiety, stress and depression
-
Addiction recovery
-
Personal development and performance coaching
-
Freelancer and small business mediation
-
Corporate workplace mediation
-
Confidence, boundaries and emotional resilience
-
Conflict, communication and relationship breakdown
Each area is different, but the work often comes back to the same starting point: understanding the pattern, getting honest about what is happening and deciding what needs to change.
My style of work
I am not the kind of therapist who just nods along while you stay stuck.
You can expect a calm, honest and practical approach. I will give you space to talk, but I will also help you connect the dots, question the patterns and look at what needs to happen next.
Some people need therapy. Some need coaching. Some need mediation. Some need a combination of all three.
The work depends on the person, the situation and the outcome we are aiming for.
What matters is that it is useful in real life.
Experience you can trust
Over the years, I have worked with individuals, couples, teams, professionals and corporate clients.
My background includes psychotherapeutic counselling, performance coaching, corporate stress management, conflict management, personal safety training and addiction support. I have also delivered training and consultancy work for national brands including Waitrose, John Lewis, Sainsbury’s and Wilkinsons.
That experience shapes the way I work now: practical, honest, calm under pressure and focused on helping people move forward.
